A Canadian company is launching an innovative solution that will enable buildings to be transformed into renewable power plants.

Mitrex’s ‘Solar Brick’ is a solar-integrated facade solution designed for use as brick wall cladding, which boasts up to 330W per panel.

According to the company, the product can be used on existing or new homes and commercial buildings “without the poor aesthetics associated with solar technology”.

Mitrex CEO Danial Hadizadeh said: “Our mission is to transform how we build our structures – electrically-powered buildings are a logical and sustainable solution to combat climate change.
