The aim is to recycle 30,000 tonnes of plastic each year

Big Zero Report 2023

TotalEnergies has signed a deal with Honeywell to advance plastic recycling.

Honeywell will supply TotalEnergies with recycled polymer feedstock, which will then be converted into plastics for use in food packaging or other applications.

The process will take place at Honeywell’s UpCycle Plant in Andalucia, Spain, with an aim to convert 30,000 tonnes of mixed plastic destined for landfill each year into recycled polymers.

Valérie Goff from Total Energies commented: “We are pleased to partner with Honeywell to tackle the issue of plastic waste through the development of advanced plastic recycling and thereby the circular economy, one of the pillars of sustainable development.

“This project, with a 2023 targeted start-up, will contribute to meet our ambition of producing 30% recycled and renewable polymers by 2030.”
