Plastic waste is all a game of snakes & ladders!

The classic boardgame has been given a twist for the Beijing Winter Olympics

The Environment Agency has changed the game of Snakes & Ladders to raise awareness of plastic pollution for the Beijing Winter Olympics.

A digital online game has been developed for schools and families to teach children about preventing plastic pollution through physical activities – all linked to this year’s winter games.

As players move around the board, they find out facts about helping the planet – such as sustainable soaps, reusable bottles and what single-use plastics are.

Kelly Haynes, Project Leader, said: “This fun game teaches young people about the waste hierarchy and the small steps they can take each day to change behaviours, influence others and help nip plastic pollution in the bud.”
