IAC Group targets net zero emissions by 2050

International Automotive Components (IAC) Group has announced its commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

Its short term goal includes reducing carbon emissions by 50% by 2030.

The company, which supplies automotive components and systems, including instrument panels, console systems and door panels, intends to achieve its targets by focusing on increasing renewable energy consumption, improving energy efficiency across all its locations and expanding engineering efforts for the EV electrification market.

It also plans to improve recyclability and lighter weight products and increase sustainability requirements for its suppliers.

IAC Group has also joined the UN Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, which encourages businesses to adopt sustainable and socially responsible practices in various areas including human rights, labour and environment.

Its previous sustainability efforts have led to significant improvements, including a 14% reduction in energy use, 28% fall in landfill shipments and 20% carbon footprint offset.

David Prystash, CEO of IAC Group said: “IAC Group is committed to creating sustainable opportunities in every aspect of our global operations and this commitment is an integral aspect of product design, our processes and the services we provide to the customer.

“We strive to reduce our environmental impact across our corporate footprint and are committed to doing our part to make our world more sustainable, both now and in the future.”
