Brentford FC to reuse same home kit next season

Premier League newcomers Brentford Football Club have set new standards, announcing they will wear the same home kit next season – from 2021 to 2023.

Although it used to be more common for clubs to have one shirt for more than one season, it has become increasingly rare in recent years as the Premier League has reached new heights and sponsorships have taken charge.

The Bees are not changing their kit however, to both save fans money and protect the environment.

Chief Executive Jon Varney, said: “We believe in football being affordable for our fans and are aware of the need for the game to become more focussed on sustainability.”

The red and white home shirt is also stocked at a more reasonable price than most of their competitors on the pitch this season – at £49.

Mr Varney continued: “We think this is a step in the right direction to help the environment a little. It can only be a good to reduce kit cycles where circumstances allow and we will continue to work with Umbro to make sure the production of our kit is as sustainable as possible.

“It is only a little thing but we believe it will help.”
