Net Hero Podcast – The role of finance in the net zero transition

On this week’s podcast, we speak to Catherine McGuinness, Board member of TheCityUK and Chair of the Policy and Resources Committee, on the importance of finance in this year’s climate summit, as well as its impacts in the future.

She labelled the conference “the finance COP” – but what does this mean?

Aside from the climate summit, we discuss the barriers in providing developing countries with the climate finance they need to kickstart their net zero journey, as well as the role the City has played in climate change to this point and what it is now doing to rectify that.

How do we finance transition and growth? How do we mobilise finance into emerging and developing markets? How do we develop a consistent set of rules? How do we price both carbon and nature? – these are just some of the questions Ms McGuinness delves into during this podcast.
