eEnergy Group acquires Utility Team

future Net Zero spoke with Harvey Sinclair from eEnergy Group and Utility Team's Delvin Lane on eEnergy's acquisition of Utility Team.

Delvin Lane will join the eEnergy’s management team and will lead the group’s enlarged Energy Management as a Service (EMaaS) division.

Harvey Sinclair, Group CEO, eEnergy Group, explained the reasoning behind the acquisition: "We had an alignment in our views and an alignment in our commercial outlook. It helped obviously that we had a shared background and a shared vision going forward.

"One of the reasons we acquired Beond first, was to establish ourselves with the technology platform and the reason this partnership is so successful is because we're leveraging some fantastic technologies and fantastic back office functionality with an incredibly successful commercial organisation in Utility Team."

Delvin Lane, CEO of Utility Team, added: "We've had tremendous growth already over the last four years. To stay ahead of that net zero curve and offer a range of services to our customers, we needed a real strategic tie-in for us.

"When we looked around the market eEnergy was a clear fit. The things they've been doing around the energy services model, whether that's lighting or energy efficiency or renewable generation. It was a really nice fit for us.

"Purely on the business strategy, our strategies almost mirror-image each other. So in the end it was a bit of a no-brainer really."
