Big Zero Report 2023

ABB has committed to electrifying its 10,000-vehicle fleet and sourcing 100% renewable electricity by 2030.

It has revealed its new ‘Sustainability Strategy’, which also includes a pledge to help its customers and suppliers reduce their emissions and to achieve carbon-neutrality in its own operations by 2030.

In addition to those commitments, the company has set new energy efficiency targets, which include the systematic use of energy management systems and science-based targets that have been approved by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Theodor Swedjemark, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, said: “At ABB, we want to lead by example across our own operations and the confirmation that our ambitious targets are now scientifically verified is an important milestone for the company.

“We believe that the combination of technology and empowered people is key to reducing emissions and avoiding the further heating of our planet.”
