Vattenfall has announced it has successfully priced SEK3.5 billion (£0.3bn) of green fixed and floating hybrid bonds.
The proceeds will finance investments that contribute to the Swedish power company’s goal of enabling a fossil-free living within one generation.
It is Vattenfall’s first hybrid capital under the Green Bond Framework, where proceeds from the bonds are earmarkeed for investments in four eligible categories – renewable energy and related infrastructure, energy efficiency, electrification of transport and heat as well as industrial projects.
The company has also repurchased SEK2.8 billion (£0.24bn) of the outstanding SEK6 billion (£0.5bn) hybrid bonds.
Vattenfall CFO Kerstin Ahlfont said: “I am pleased that our first SEK-denominated green transaction engaged so many Nordic investors that will now join Vattenfall in driving the energy transition forward.”
