Carbon Clean and BayoTech have joined forces to develop a small-scale hydrogen and carbon capture site.

The companies will begin work on developing a carbon capture plant at a BayoTech site in North America, expected to be operational in 2022.

They have agreed upon a way to integrate Carbon Clean’s carbon capture process into BayoTech’s hydrogen generating units.

The facility will demonstrate how to decrease the cost for small scale hydrogen and carbon dioxide production and the companies claim it marks an important step in the energy transition towards achieving net zero by 2050.

Mo Vargas, CEO of BayoTech, commented: “We are thrilled to be working with a world-leading company like Carbon Clean to deliver low and negative-carbon hydrogen projects.

“The combination of technologies provides an ideal solution to industrial decarbonisation and clean fuel production that is deployable today.”
