Abris Capital commits to carbon-neutral portfolio by 2025

Private equity investors Abris Capital Partners has made a commitment to achieve a carbon-neutral portfolio by 2025.

The Central Europe-focused investor has launched 'ESG Universe 2023', a comprehensive programme of environmental, social and governance initiatives.

Its commitment to carbon-neutrality starts with measurements of the carbon footprint of all companies in its portfolio, followed by the creation of emissions reduction action plans and carbon offset initiatives.

Abris intends to focus mostly on real emissions reductions rather than offsets by investing in further emission reduction projects over the course of each year.

In addition, it has tasked each of its portfolio companies to not only reduce emissions but also to adapt their strategies and operating models to tackling climate change.

Pawl Gierynski, Managing Partner at Abris Capital said: “Over recent years, Abris has made responsible investing a central organisational focus. As a firm, we know what our investors are asking of us in this area. However, we don't just want to meet these expectations – we aim to far exceed them.
