Gamesys Group reaches carbon-neutral status

Gamesys Group has been certified carbon-neutral by the Carbon Trust for all its direct (Scope 1 and 2) emissions within its operational control.

Gamesys is an international online casino gaming operator of brands such as Virgin Games and Monopoly Casino.

It introduced its ‘Environment, Energy & Climate Change Policy’ last year, which outlined its commitment to becoming a carbon-neutral business by 2021.

To achieve its status, it has purchased energy efficient IT equipment and reduced its gross emissions by 32%. The company has also offset some of its carbon footprint through investment in a Gold Standard scheme in Peru.

The games company has committed to achieving a 50% reduction in its greenhouse gas emissions by 2023 and aims to source its electricity supply from renewable energy.

Kevin Clegg, Sustainability Director at Gamesys, said: “Becoming operationally carbon-neutral is an important milestone for Gamesys Group.

"It delivers upon one of the group’s core strategic targets and reflects our commitment to sustainability and the worldwide fight against climate change.”
