Sweden’s ASSA ABLOY commits to science-based sustainability targets

The ASSA ABLOY Group, a Swedish conglomerate that offers cover products and services ranging from locks, doors, gates and entrance automation, has made a commitment to science-based sustainability targets.

It has pledged to substantially reduce its greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain, setting targets that are aligned to the Paris climate agreement, including halving emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050.

The Group is also launching a new sustainability programme with targets for 2025, focusing on reducing energy, carbon and water consumption, increasing materials efficiency and reducing waste along with improving employees' health and safety.

"Our long term commitment to science-based targets demonstrates our willingness to lead the industry towards a more sustainable future and will further improve our competitiveness with sustainable products, solutions and operations.
