Moncler sets 2021 deadline for carbon-neutral sites

Fashion brand Moncler has announced a commitment to become carbon-neutral at its own sites worldwide by 2021.

The firm has also pledged to have its global operations powered with 100% renewable energy by 2023.

The company's updated sustainability plan involves the recycling of fabric scraps, the use of sustainable nylon and the elimination of single-use plastics.

Moncler will also introduce a new mechanical recycling process that requires 70% less water compared to conventional technologies.

The fashion brand said it has achieved a 30% reduction in its direct carbon dioxide emissions in the last three years.

Remo Ruffini, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Moncler, commented: "The world is facing ever more urgent social and
environmental challenges.

"The pandemic is a reminder that we can, we must, always go beyond what we have already achieved if we are to make our future better."
