Industry regulators 'must have a clear responsibility' to ensure the UK's goal of delivering net zero emissions by 2050 can be delivered.

That's the suggestion offered in a new report from the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), which highlights the urgency of progress on economy-wide infrastructure delivery and stresses regulators should have a specific focus on delivering the National Infrastructure Strategy,

It notes regulators have to "acknowledge how regulatory policy aligns with the government’s strategic objectives on infrastructure investment" and stresses reaching government policy objectives will require "transformative investment" in industries such as energy, transport, water, and telecommunications.
