Oil and gas company Eni has launched a new partnership with the national association of local public transport companies in Italy, called ASSTRA, to accelerate sustainable mobility in the country.
The partnership, which aims to implement a series of initiatives to reduce the levels of particulates in the air, will share knowledge and expertise to investigate the potential of shared mobility programmes and the use of biofuels in public transport.
The agreement will also look at various hydrogen-powered mobility options as partners have committed to launching experiments to explore if hydrogen can be used on a large scale as an alternative fuel.
The collaboration also includes training schemes for public transport users to raise awareness around circularity, environment and alternative mobility solutions.
