Global safety footwear brand becomes carbon-neutral in its Australian operations

Global safety footwear brand Steel Blue has announced its Australian operations are now carbon-neutral.

The business has achieved this goal by offsetting its carbon emissions from its fleet, energy use, air travel, water consumption and freight.

The firm has invested in a reforestation project in Western Australia and a biodiversity project in Indonesia – the two areas where they currently operate and manufacture boots for their global market.

CEO Garry Johnson said: ‘’As a global organisation, it’s important that we understand the impact that our business has on communities and environments that we operate in. We strive to be a good corporate citizen and give back to local communities."

The company has committed to becoming carbon-neutral in its global operations by 2025.
