Tesco reaches milestone of 200th store with free EV charging infrastructure

Tesco reaches milestone of 200th store with free EV charging infrastructure

Two hundred Tesco stores have now seen installations of electric vehicle (EV) charging points, including free of charge fast chargers.

The retail giant has teamed up with Volkswagen and Pod Point to provide what claims to be the 'largest retail EV charging network in the UK'.

The network, which counts 804 EV charging points, has EV charging infrastructure installed in Tesco car parks.

Since the rollout began in 2019, drivers have powered their cars with more than 669MWh of energy - this is equivalent to the energy needed to drive around the world approximately 120 times.
