Buckinghamshire Council commits to net zero operations by 2030

Buckinghamshire Council has committed to having net operations by 2030.

Its Cabinet has agreed unanimously on bringing forward plans to achieve this goal, including the provision of more sustainable transport, encouraging more green businesses, tree planting and local carbon reduction schemes.

The authority also pledged to reach net carbon zero for Buckinghamshire as a whole by 2050.

Martin Tett, Leader of the Council, said: "Climate change is a truly global challenge and we must play our part by setting tough goals but ones we can realistically achieve."
