Tesco launches sustainable packaging partnership to cut plastic waste

The retail giant teamed up with the circular shopping platform Loop for a new initiative which aims to deliver products to households in reusable packaging

Tesco has established a sustainable packaging partnership with circular shopping platform Loop in a bid to cut plastic waste.

The initiative aims to deliver products to households in reusable packaging and is part of Tesco’s efforts to find a scalable, reusable packaging solution.

The programme allows customers across the UK to order online 150 products including sauces, yoghurts, soaps, cereals, moisturisers in fully reusable packaging.

Customers will receive the products in a reusable tote bag which can be filled with the containers once finished.

After receiving the containers, Loop uses industrial cleaning technology, which is similar to that used in aerospace and the medical industry, to clean them before being refilled.
