Sky makes TV screens go green with carbon-neutral shows

Sky has made a commitment toward its ambition to be net zero by 2030 by pledging to make all of its Sky Originals from 2019 onwards carbon-neutral.

The firm aims to become the most sustainable media and entertainment company in Europe and has already managed to more than halve its operational intensity across the business in the last ten years and has its 70% of its energy needs covered by renewables.

The media organisation has also pledged to cut emissions from its business operations, suppliers and customers using its tech products by at least 50%.

The TV network, which reaches 23 million households or an estimated 120 million people across Europe, has previously committed to opening one of the world's most sustainable film and TV studios by 2022.

A zero-emissions fleet project of 5,000 vehicles is also included in the climate plan to be rolled out by the company.
