Archer Daniels Midland pledges to achieve a 90% landfill waste diversion rate by 2035

Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) has announced commitments to achieve a 90% landfill diversion rate and reduce water intensity by 10% by 2035.

The American global food processing and commodities trading corporation had earlier this year pledged to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 25% and energy intensity by 15% during the same timeframe.

In addition, ADM will develop water reduction plans for high-risk and water-scarce areas.

ADM Chairman and CEO Juan Luciano, said: "The importance of these commitments becomes even clearer amid an unprecedented challenge such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Companies like ADM are playing a critical role in supporting and maintaining the global food chain.

"Even amid these global challenges, we are continuing our work to ensure that ADM and the natural resources on which we depend remain strong and vital in the years to come."
