Severn Trent to install more than 350 EV charging points at its facilities

Severn Trent plans to install more than 350 electric vehicle (EV) charging points across its sites in the next 18 months.

The water and waste company has teamed up with Amsterdam-based EVBox who will supply 352 charging points.

Severn Trent’s EV ambition forms part of its triple carbon pledge, which will also see it achieve carbon-neutrality and use 100% renewable energy by 2030.

Last month the firm also joined the EV100, a global initiative committed to accelerating the transition to EVs and making them 'the new normal' by 2030.

Helen Miles, Capital Delivery and Commercial Director at Severn Trent, said: “This partnership with EVBox, who will supply over 300 electric vehicle charging points across our sites, is a major milestone in our bid to have a fleet of vehicles that are entirely electric by 2030."

Jonathan Goose, Regional Director UK & Ireland of EVBox, added: “Our vision at EVBox is to accelerate towards a zero-emission future. I am happy to see that companies like Severn Trent are sharing our passion regarding carbon-neutrality and sustainable transport.

"Workplace charging plays a crucial role when it comes to the transition to e-mobility and we’re proud to contribute with our EVBox BusinessLine charging station to Severn Trent’s ambitions of electrifying their fleets entirely within the next 10 years.”
