UK Power Networks grants £800,000 to support most vulnerable during Covid-19 crisis

UK Power Networks has announced financial aid of £800,000 to help reduce Covid-19 impacts.

Of the total grant, £500,000 will be donated to organisations working to support the most vulnerable in the UK.

The remaining amount of £300,000 will be directed toward fuel poverty mitigation measures, through UK Power Networks’ Power Partners Scheme.

Kerry Potter, Consumer Vulnerability Manager at UK Power Networks, said: “In the current climate of self-isolation more people will be struggling with their bills and unable to go to 'safe' community places to get advice and support.

"Through Power Partners we can work with local charities and organisations who have found effective ways to help people in vulnerable circumstances both during the lockdown and afterwards, and make a real difference.”
