INEOS and PLASTIC ENERGY to build new end-to-end plastic recycling facility

INEOS and PLASTIC ENERGY to build new end-to-end plastic recycling facility

INEOS and PLASTIC ENERGY have commissioned a new plastic recycling plant, as part of a joint commitment to a circular economy and reducing plastic pollution.

The recycling facility will convert waste plastic into basic molecules that can be later used as raw materials for packaging, water transportation pipes and medical products.

Rob Ingram, CEO at INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe, said: “This represents the delivery of another important milestone in the INEOS sustainability strategy. To take plastic waste back to virgin plastic is the ultimate definition of recycling and will create a truly circular economy solution.

“This will enable us to offer another opportunity for our customers to help them meet their pledges and commitments in this area.”

The plant is scheduled to launch by 2023.
