Azelio to provide clean energy to mining industry in Latin America

Swedish energy storage developer Azelio is set to supply round-the-clock renewable energy to a mining firm in Latin America.

Azelio has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chilean firm Industria Mecanica VOGT SA (VOGT) to deploy 10MW of energy storage capacity between 2021 and 2024.

The solar-combined storage system will store clean energy required to power the mine's pumping systems, in addition to reducing the facility's carbon footprint and electricity costs.

The MoU projects a total of 50kW renewable energy generation in the first quarter of 2021, followed by a 100kW output in the third quarter.
