IONITY officially opens new EV rapid chargers in Leeds

Munich-based IONITY has unveiled a new 350kW electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Leeds.

The firm and Extra MSA Group have committed to launching 11 charging stations across the UK this year - the Leeds Skelton Lake Services is the fourth instalment.

Commuters will now be able fully charge an EV in less in 20 minutes, depending on the vehicle’s charging capacity.

IONITY aims to further establish 400 High Power charging stations across Europe to facilitate pan-European EV travel.

Andrew Long, CEO of Extra MSA Group, said: “Whilst we obviously wish that the circumstances for opening Leeds Skelton Lake Services could have been different, we are proud to open this latest ‘new concept’ MSA and one which will provide a ‘critical infrastructure’ role for the safe and efficient operation of this section of the Motorway Network.”
