‘Our supply chain is strong to the coronavirus crisis’

Our supply chain is strong to the coronavirus crisis.

That's the suggestion from Kevin McPartlan, CEO of the Irish Petroleum Industry Association, who spoke to future Net Zero about the coronavirus implications on oil industry.

He said: "At the moment our supply chain is strong in the escalating situation", and this is because although "fuel demand has dramatically reduced for transport fuel, the area we do have an increase of demand is for home heating".

He expects also that in the next couple of months, the biggest challenges for the oil industry will be "firstly, to protect our own people, our staff, and the consumers and secondly to maintain supply in order to be able to provide oil to all these people who are staying at home".
