Hyundai unveils joystick-controlled EV

Hyundai has unveiled its new electric vehicle (EV), named Prophecy, which will be controlled by a joystick, instead of a steering wheel.

The manufacturer says the new EV is aimed at being an autonomous vehicle, so has replaced its traditional steering wheel with a pair of joysticks for "a completely new yet reassuringly familiar and intuitive driving experience".

Hyundai claims one benefit of swapping the wheel for joysticks is extra comfort for all passengers, including those in the traditional driving positions.

The Prophecy is said to be created by eco-friendly materials while external intakes placed at the bottom of the side doors clean outside air and direct it into the vehicle. The treated air is circulated back out into the atmosphere as clean air.
