Food supplier Savona trials Tevva electric truck

Food supplier Savona claims it has become the first UK business to trial an electric truck from Tevva Motors.

The catering service, which says it is fully committed to "dramatically reducing" its carbon emissions and environmental impact, has been searching for a suitable delivery system for a number of months - it has now decided to trial Tevva Motors' range-extended electric vehicles (REEV).

It said: "This new addition to our fleet, alongside our first hybrid electric reps car, means we are well on our way to ensuring our customers journey is “green” from first meeting to delivery of goods."

The government has recently announced it is offering £37 million of new finance to design, test and manufacture electric transport solutions.
