UK’s Moixa and Dutch firm Alfen have launched a partnership to explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered software to help electric vehicle (EV) drivers reduce their home energy bills and cut emissions whilst delivering flexibility to the grid.
The trial will see Moixa’s ‘GridShare’ software integrated with Alfen’s EV chargers to create personalised smart charging plans based on household energy consumption patterns, locally-produced solar energy and optimisation for time-of-use tariffs.
A limited number of participants will receive the AI-enabled charging technology free of charge as part of the initial phase of the pilot project.
