Tyson Foods has launched the Coalition for Global Protein, which aims to gather global businesses and organisations to advance the future of sustainable protein.
The movement aims to unite stakeholders across the food and agriculture sector to identify and implement innovative solutions to feed growing populations in a way that doesn't significantly impact the environment.
It aims to cut food waste, increase access to protein and protect global ecosystems at every link in the supply chain.
The firm has not yet disclosed which firms would be joining the new coalition.
Noel White, CEO of Tyson Foods, said: "As one of the world’s largest food companies, we want to help ensure the responsible production of affordable, nutritious food for generations to come.
"We’re introducing this Coalition because we know that we cannot achieve this alone. Collective commitment and immediate action are needed to deliver the greatest impact on the future of sustainable food production."
