Ambev to phase out plastic pollution from packaging by 2025

Brazilian beverages firm Ambev has committed to tackling plastic pollution from its packaging by 2025.

The move is reportedly forecast to generate around $239.09 million (£182.5m) in business as the firm explores new ways of packaging its products, which include beers such as Antarctica, Brahma, Bohemia, Skol and Stella Artois.

By the target deadline, the firm will plan to use only returnable packaging or packaging made of 100% recycled material.

Parent company AB InBev is working towards its own target of powering all of its operations from renewable energy sources by 2025.
