About this job

Describing an Account Manager is easy – you’ll be a people person, through and through. You’ll be able to build great working relationships that last for lifetimes, because you don’t just ‘talk the talk, you walk the walk,’ which is what being an Account Manager is all about.

You’ll be the Champion for your customer – assessing their needs and identifying the most effective products and services that we can provide, while working with suppliers to negotiate the best pricing, terms and conditions available – whether dealing with renewals or new contracts, you will always strive for the best for your customer and for DB Group.

You will work as part of a wider team, with Customer Operations Advisors and Administrators working alongside you to deliver our fantastic service, while being provided with the expertise and knowledge of other functions like Finance, Sales, Technical Services and Human Resources.

The purpose of the job is:

  • To build, sustain and maintain relationships with customers, assessing and identifying their utilities requirements - including energy, water and telecommunications (e.g. Hosted Telephony, Broadband, Leased Lines, Data and Mobile), providing recommendations on the appropriate products, services and solutions.
  • Manage the end-to-end customer lifecycle (e.g. new contracts, tendering, renewals, change of tenancy aka COT and disputes) by acting as their primary point of contact, resolving queries within your remit and expertise, while escalating or referring to a colleague where appropriate.
  • Identify and source new business opportunities through several channels, which feed into the business plan.

What you might bring to the table:

  • Experience of building effective and sustainable customer relationships
  • The ability to comfortably communicate equally by email and telephone
  • Experience of working with suppliers to manage the customer lifecycle
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to prioritise and manage several different tasks at once
  • You may have experience of working in the energy, water or telecommunications industry as an Account Manager or other customer facing role
  • You may have experience and/or knowledge of Ofgem code of practice for Third Party Intermediaries (TPI’s)
  • You may have experience of Capsule CRM, which we use to record our customer contact

Package Available

  • This role is offered on a permanent contract, with a standard 6-month probation period to ensure both the business and candidate are happy in their new position
  • The role attracts an £Competitivebasic salary, which is competitive and will match the successful candidate’s skills and experience
  • 28 days annual leave per annum plus an additional 2 ‘duvet days’ to be used upon the successful completion of a probation period
  • Upon completion of 3 months service, the successful candidate will be automatically enrolled into our pension scheme
