Energy savings of 20% to land at Dubai Airports’ facilities

Dubai Airports is expecting to see annual energy savings of almost 20% at its facilities through data analytics and new smart building technology.

Siemens has guaranteed the savings on the organisation’s energy bill by implementing energy efficiency measures at Terminals 1, 2 3 and Concourse B at Dubai International (DXB).

The seven-year project is part of the energy-saving strategy of Dubai Airports, the authority that owns and manages airports in the middle eastern city, designed to limit the environmental footprint at its airports.

Siemens has developed a tailor-made energy optimisation solution, comprising a range of physical and digital technologies including variable frequency drives, sensors, intelligent controls, energy metering and efficient water fixtures.

The project is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by around 25,000 tons, with annual electricity savings of 50GWh and water savings of around 21 million gallons.
