Job Title: Business Development Manager (International – energy services)

Salary: £60K DOE + attractive package

Location: London with international travel

 Summary:

A leading consultancy of Demand Response Management are looking for a Business Development Manager to market their highly successful Demand Response platform to new countries and markets, by setting up partnerships or by establishing a direct footprint. The ideal Business Development Manager will have a successful track record of entering new countries/markets, and will have a detailed understanding of the international energy markets. A technical background and expertise in Demand Response would be highly advantageous.  Responsibilities:

  • Stay on top of market developments and become the go-to person for international Demand Response markets and intelligence.
  • Understand the technology and find new applications for it.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new partners around the world.
  • First point of contact for external enquiries on co-operation/partnerships.
  • Analyse markets - countries, programmes, regulatory environment, partners, competition, etc.
  • Identify opportunities and concisely describe them.
  • Identify regulatory, technical and commercial requirements to enter market.
  • Develop a business case and present to senior management.
  • Identify, contact and sign agreements with international partners (e.g. utility companies).
  • Work with international partners and support project manager and/or local teams to roll-out.
  • Demand Response programmes.

 Key Skills and experience:

  • Highly motivated individual
  • Enthusiastic about green energy and technology - Demand Response, Battery Storage, Smart Grid, Energy and Environmental services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to confidently present sophisticated / technical concepts to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker, with operational delivery capability.
  • Proficient in strategic market analysis and planning.
  • Strong relationship building skills, coupled with strong listening and communications skills.
  • Mature, entrepreneurial, self-motivated individual.
  • Team player, able to work both individually and on team projects.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Education level: Master’s Degree in Business and/or Engineering.
