UN partners with French startup to fight car emissions

The UN has partnered with a French startup company in a bid to fight emissions from cars.

WeNow has developed a “smart box”, helping drivers to monitor their emissions, giving advice on reducing their fuel usage and compensating the remaining emissions by supporting green projects.

It has joined Climate Neutral Now, a UN initiative that encourages individuals and organisations to measure and reduce their carbon emissions and offset what cannot be avoided.

By signing the pledge, WeNow is also measuring, reducing and offsetting the carbon footprint of its activities.

Niclas Svenningsen, who heads up the initiative of the UN Climate Change said: “WeNow is an example of a startup company showing creativity and leadership in the way towards climate neutrality in the transport sector, thereby making an important contribution to the fight against climate change.”
