UK publishes database of 4,300 low carbon projects

The UK Government has published an online database which includes details about 4,300 low carbon organisations and projects.

They have benefitted from government funding since April 2012 from the Energy Entrepreneurs Fund, Innovate UK, Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

The government hopes this will bring greater transparency to its actions and highlight the support on offer for low carbon technologies.

It also hopes it will interest those looking to invest in UK businesses and for information on the level of support for research and development as well as British firms seeking partnerships and export opportunities.

BEIS states: “We want to ensure that the innovative companies we support are visible and championed for their work in developing clean technology of the future, providing them with the opportunity to promote themselves to potential investors.”

The database is currently in the consultation phase.
