Most UK businesses support new carbon reporting framework

A new energy and carbon reporting framework is supported by 87% of decision makers in British businesses.

That's according to new research from npower Business Solutions, which shows these stakeholders believe this is likely to drive a nationwide reduction in companies’ energy use, bills and carbon emissions.

The survey of 500 senior figures suggests reduced energy costs would be the biggest benefit to the change in reporting frameworks (58%), followed by increased energy efficiency (54%) and reduced bureaucracy (45%).

More than nine in 10 respondents said they intend to participate in the consultation and provide their opinion on the new framework before it closes in January.

Mark Rose, Head of npower Business Solutions, said: "It’s great to see such strong support from British plc. for the UK Government’s new proposed reporting framework.

"Businesses can save up to 20% of their energy spend when they consider their usage strategically, whether that’s via demand side response opportunities or behaviour change."
