Liverpool council’s energy saving deal with E.ON

Liverpool council’s energy saving deal with E.ON

Liverpool City Council is launching a £1.5m warmer homes scheme alongside Big Six supplier E.ON.

The deal will offer all private landlord tenants and homeowners, up to £775 worth of free or subsidised insulation and boiler discounts, for those who are eligible. They don't have to be an E.ON customer.

Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson said: “I’m delighted that E.ON has committed to supporting the Mayor’s Hope Fund objectives.

"Tackling fuel poverty is a priority for the city because there are far too many people struggling to make ends meet due to the impact of austerity. This scheme will make a huge difference to the lives of a lot of households in our city.”

There are around 14,000 privately rented homes across Liverpool on a qualifying ECO benefit. A typical family home could save £285 a year on their heating bills by having cavity wall and loft insulation.

Details of those who qualify are available on Liverpool council's website.
