Which commercial waste compactor should your business choose?

For many industries, possessing waste compactors comes with a number of surprising benefits. The eco-friendly, money-saving and comparatively clean machines can help dispose of waste effectively in a number of commercial sectors.

However, before you jump to purchase a waste compactor for your business, you must first determine exactly which model is right for you are your needs.

A stationary compactor is perhaps the most frequently used model in industrial and manufacturing settings, especially those that generate a great volume of large-sized waste. It is a simple model in that it remains stationary, with the waste material packed into a box compactor. This is simply removed when full and taken to landfill to be emptied. Like all waste compactors, stationary models can hold a substantial amount of waste before removal is necessary.

A vertical compactor packs waste down vertically into a removable container at its bottom. Vertical compactors are adept at handling liquid waste as well as solid waste. Due to its vertical stance, these models are especially easy during the removal process as vertical compactors generally hold slightly less waste than a stationary compactor. Therefore, it is appropriate in some cases to own more than one vertical model to reduce the frequency of waste removal.

A self-contained compactor is specifically designed to handle a high volume of liquid waste. The compactor and waste container are attached as one unit, therefore requiring the entire compactor to be removed for disposal. Self-contained compactors generally have larger container sizes than other waste compactors, because of their tendency to take on high volumes of liquid waste.

Other, less frequent types of waste compactors can be used, such as the apartment compactor. These are often found in high rise commercial and residential buildings. Because these waste compactors often feed waste through a chute of some kind, all models are usually fitted with a photoelectric sensor, which can automatically tell when waste is entering the compactor and when the container itself is full.

It is worth noting that all four of these waste compactor examples are not hindered by size. In fact, all of the models can be purchased in various sizes, depending on the amount of waste you believe your company may use.

Remember waste compactors do not have to be purchased - if your waste removal needs are temporary, compactors can be rented at very affordable prices.
