UK atomic energy authority seeks new experts

The UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is seeking two Non-Executive Directors to join the Board and help shape the future of energy.

The positions include a financial expert, who will also chair the Audit Committee and an academic or research and development leader.

UKAEA scientists and engineers are working with partners around the globe to develop fusion as a new source of clean energy for future power stations.

It states: “In partnership with industry and academia, we are also developing opportunities to work together to enable our expertise to be used in non-nuclear applications, with an increased technology focus.”

Last year Professor Ian Chapman was appointed to head the UKAEA.

The government intends to leave the European Atomic Energy Community or Euratom as part of Brexit, whith the UKAEA said it "not ideal".
