Tata Power commissions two green projects in India

A subsidiary of Tata Power has commissioned two renewable energy projects in India.

That includes 36MW of a 100MW wind farm, which is under construction at Andhra Pradesh and a 49MW solar plant in Tamil Nadu.

That increases the operating renewable energy capacity of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) to 1,876MW – comprising 841MW wind, 915MW solar and 120MW waste heat recovery capacity.

Last year, the company won 320MW of solar bids, which are under development and will be commissioned this year.

It is also developing 304MW of wind capacity in the states of Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.

Rahul Shah, CEO & Executive Director, TPREL said: “With the commissioning of these two projects, TPREL continues to fortify its position of being the largest renewable energy company in the country. Our strategic approach is in line with Tata Power’s aim to expand its clean energy portfolio up to 35%-40% by 2025.”
