E.ON launches new business unit for EV charging stations

German utility E.ON has announced the creation of a new business unit to develop and expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Europe.

It will join strong partners to provide EV drivers a “comprehensive” range of services.

That includes the installation of more charging points several locations and offering the customer tailor-made products such as an opportunity to charge with green electricity or a flat rate that provides for unlimited mobility.

In addition, E.ON is offering companies and municipalities in Germany innovative charging stations for either sale or lease.

The firm claims it currently operates around 2,500 charging stations.

Karsten Wildberger, a member of the E.ON Management Board said: "We firmly believe in the future of e-mobility and the related potential for growth. By virtue of our core strengths and experiences we are in an excellent position to succeed in the growing field of e-mobility. We aim to making e-mobility as convenient as possible for our customers."
