The UK power system is expected to be comfortable today, according to npower’s daily market report.
The peak margin is forecast at 13GW.
Gas-fired generation is at 15GW providing, 48% of the energy mix.
Wind is generating 3GW, contributing 10% of the stack and the French and Dutch interconnectors are importing at their near capacity levels of 2GW and 1GW respectively.

On the gas system, the linepack is forecast to close 7mcm long.
Alex Guiot from the Optimisation Desk said: “St Fergus is currently flowing at 33mcm. There is one LNG tanker due into Milford Haven on Thursday this week and Langeled flows are gradually increasing flowing a few outages last week.”
Brent oil is trading at $50.04/bbl (£38.03/bbl).
The pound is valued at €1.15.
