Welsh public sector organisations can now apply for green project loans.
Salix's Wales Funding Programme, which combines the Salix Energy Efficiency Loans Scheme (SEELS) and the Invest to Save - Green Growth Finance Schemes, offers finance to public sector groups.
This means they can invest in green projects to reduce operating costs and can repay the loans through the resulting cost savings. This also results in savings for the taxpayer.
The programme initially focused on energy efficiency 'pay as you save' projects, but has now branched out to also cover renewable energy and resource efficiency projects.
The programme has supported more than 14,400 projects across the country with a combined value of more than £460 million. These projects save more than £116 million each year and reduce carbon emissions by over 613,000 tonnes annually.
Salix said financing was now available for Welsh projects with a sufficiently prepared business case. Some companies near this stage will also be considered.
