E.ON board ‘to meet over Scottish onshore wind investments’

E.ON's board is reportedly set for an urgent meeting in Germany regarding its Scottish onshore wind investments.

According to reports, the meeting has been arranged due to the UK’s decision to leave the EU and recent policy decisions made by the government.

The board will investigate the viability of its onshore wind investments in Scotland. The firm currently has 16 operational onshore and five offshore wind farms in the country.

It has invested invested more than  £2.4 billion in renewables in the UK, so far and operates almost 1GW of renewable capacity.

In June, E.ON asked shareholders to vote in favor of its plans to separate its hydro, natural gas and coal plants as well as global energy trading operations into a separate company named Uniper.

ELN contacted E.ON for a response to the reports but they refused to comment.
