The UK’s wind generation is low today, providing only 2% of the power mix.
The peak power margin is at 12GW, according to the daily market report from npower.
Gas-fired generation is contributing 54% of the stack.
The French and Dutch interconnectors are importing at their near capacity levels.

The gas system is “roughly balanced".
Alex Guiot from the Optimisation Desk said: "Despite the outage ending at Kvitebjoern, flows haven’t increased from their level yesterday. There was a slight drop in send-outs from South Hook but it should not last as three tankers are expected to head there before the 1st of August.
Brent oil is trading at $43.30/Bbl (£32.4/bbl).
