Brazil's wind energy capacity increased by 57% in a year.

That’s according to the Ministry of Energy and Mines which stated the renewable capacity rose to 6.8GW in November 2015 compared to 4.3GW during the same period in 2014.

The government expects wind energy installations as well as solar to continue increasing in the next few years.

On the other hand, the growth of hydropower and biomass slowed.

Hydro capacity increased by 2.3GW during the same period whilst biomass rose by almost 2GW, the Ministry of Energy stated.
