£20m investment for CHP plant in Nottingham

The construction of a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant in Nottingham has received a £20 million investment.

Energy Saving Investments (ESI) has provided £14.6 million and the Equitix Energy Efficiency Fund (EEEF) has invested £15 million.

The project is expected to have a capacity of 6.8MW and cut around 13,300 tonnes of carbon emissions per year – equivalent of taking 6,000 cars off the road.

It is scheduled to start operating in March 2017 and is developed by Pinnacle Power and Mycock Associates.

Geoff Jackson, Chief Executive Director at Equitix said: "Equitix have a robust pipeline of CHP opportunities in the UK and we are pleased to have closed another of these deals on behalf of our investors. We work with a diverse range of partners to support innovative deals across the country that will ultimately deliver remarkable carbon savings over the projects’ life."
